Position
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the accurate and timely review and analysis of Verizon's purchase to determine if taxes paid on purchases are correct or need to be reversed.
The work must be completed in order to support monthly filing of State and Local Sales and Use Tax Returns for Verizon Regulated and Non-Regulated Companies.
Analyze financial data from Corporate Accounting (Journal Entries) to utilize in the tax return preparation.
Prepare Journal Entries for Sales/Use tax.
Coordinate and resolve accrual and journalization issues.
Assist Audit, Research, Tax Technology and other departments as necessary.
Perform special projects, as required, assigned by Manager and/or Director.
These may require detailed analysis and completion in a short time frame.
Required Skills & Experience :
Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Related Field Required
Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in state and local transaction tax compliance.
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
