Our client is currently seeking a Linux System Administrator.

This job will have the following
Responsibilities:
This position involves day-to-day operation of an enterprise information technology (IT) infrastructure.
The primary responsibilities of this candidate is to administer in-house Linux servers, disk storage arrays, and virtualization environment and assist with project specific test bed setup, configuration and troubleshoot.
The Linux servers and virtualization infrastructure mostly run CentOS and Open Source Xen hypervisor and XenCenter.
There are a few other servers that run RedHat RHEL and other Linux flavors of operating systems.
The infrastructure has a number of Dell MD 38xx storage arrays as well as direct attached storage.
The project specific laboratory test beds also use Ubuntu, VMware, and VirtualBox.
In addition to administering the IT infrastructure environment, the candidate is expected to provide end user support to troubleshoot users' general purpose PCs.
These PCs mostly run Microsoft Windows 7.
Some have dual boot or virtual machines installed on the PCs.
Following is a general list of tasks that this system administrator performs routinely:
Perform sever and storage array hardware installation and troubleshoot Perform OS install, upgrade and apply patches; maintain YUM repository Maintain and write shell or Perl scripts as needed for automation of system administration tasksMaintain and troubleshoot critical server services including Apache, DNS, DHCP, sendmail, LDAP, license server services, mailing list exploder, and Samba Perform configuration and customization to various open source tools used in the infrastructure; Some of the tools that are currently used include OpenVPN, MRTG, Nagios, NetDB, RANCID, Squid proxy, Samba windbind, OCSInventory Install and configure project specific software packages as needed Troubleshoot end user PC issues and basic network problems, change printer cartridge Maintain EMC Networker and Amanda data backup and restore Perform other IT related tasks as directed to insure the effective operation of the operationQualifications & Requirements:
CentOS, RedHat, and other Linux flavor operating systems, Xen and VMware virtualization technologies, shell programming, Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking and Microsoft Windows operating system, Good communication skills.
